Once a search term has been entered, you will get a results list that looks like this.  in this example the word 'goldfish' was entered.  Each grid shows a different library item that related to your search term.

Looking at the navigation buttons across the screen - 

The green box highlights the number of results that were returned fro your search.  26 results in this example, which are sorted by 'best matching'.   If there is more than one page of results the back and forward arrows will be in bold for navigation.

The Red box shows how you can narrow your search results, by clicking on 'available items only' or using the + sign to limit by author, branch etc.

The purple box allows for other searches (this is covered in Advanced Searching page).

To keep note of items you are interested in, simply drag and drop the cover images to the basket.  Moving covers to the basket will also allow you to reserve items later.




Understanding the grid results

A picture of the front cover will show (if available) and the title and author are listed below.






In the Orange boxes there is an icon which indicates the type of resource it is. In this example:  Goldfish is an instructional reader and A Fox & Goldfish is a Sophisticated Picture Book.
There are different icons for posters, games, ebooks, online content, PDFs etc)  Hover over the icon for an explanation 

This area also shows where the book can be found on the shelf
Goldfish is found in the Readers Section of the library with the call number ORA PM Animal
A fox & Goldfish is found in the Sophisticated Picture Book section of the library with the call number PIE

To get more information, click on the title (blue hyperlink) to bring up all the details about the item.

By clicking on the subject heading Cats - poetry, a list of other items with the same subject heading would appear.
